About Cross to Crown

I will never forget the first time I read the entire Bible cover to cover. One thing struck me on virtually every page of the Scripture—God is sovereign and He controls all things.

For the next several years this truth occupied all of my thinking and studying of the Bible. A little while later, another magnificent truth began to leap from the pages of God’s holy Word. I began to understand that the whole of the Scripture is about Jesus Christ. More than that, I began to see that —

the purpose for the entire universe is Jesus Christ.

My mind and heart have been captivated by this glorious reality ever since. It has become my passion to make it the passion of others to be intentionally Christ-obsessed in all things. That is the impetus for Cross to Crown Ministries.

Our motivation is simple. We want to encourage believers to live purposefully with explicit devotion to Jesus Christ in every facet of life: Bible study, teaching, marriage, parenting, worship, working, playing, learning, retirement planning, or anything else we do.

Our methods have evolved over time. Currently, our primary teaching tool is our daily livestream on X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Facebook.

We also distribute dozens of Christ-centered books and host hundreds of hours of free videos to help you think and live intentionally Christ-obsessed in all things. (If you become a CTC Partner, you gain access to full NCST video course archives.)

About Doug

Doug grew up in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. While pursuing a music career, he received an unmistakable call to pastoral ministry. He immediately enrolled at Covenant Theological Seminary and entered the pastorate. In 1999, before completing his studies, he was called to a church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he served as the associate pastor through 2005 and as the lead pastor from 2006-2021.*

In 2010, along with Dwight Brown, Dan Brown, and Todd Cothran, he founded Cross to Crown Ministries and the New Covenant School of Theology. In August of 2021, Doug resigned his pastorate and turned his attention to Cross to Crown Ministries, home fellowships, and other things.

Doug and his wife, Krista, have been married since August 15, 1992. The Lord has blessed them with three children and one son-in-law.

*He went on to complete his Master of Divinity degree at New Geneva Seminary in Colorado Springs.
